The last session of this year’s Women’s Bible Study will be a study of the Gospel of Mark. The study is written by Lisa Harper, a well-known author and preacher of the word. The study includes weekly videos with Lisa’s rich knowledge of the Bible along with a user-friendly study guide geared toward participation instead of intimidation. The guide is segmented into chunks, so you can work on it when it is convenient.
Lisa Harper is a well-known author and leader of women’s ministry. She is known as a master storyteller, whose writing and speaking overflows with colorful pop culture references that help us connect the dots between the Bible and modern life. She has written 11 books and served as the director of Focus on the Family and is a featured speaker on the national Women of Faith tour. The Gospel of Mark was written by John Mark, even though he was not a disciple himself, was well acquainted with them and accompanied Paul on his first missionary trip. Mark was the first Gospel written between 55 AD and 65 AD. The Gospel records more miracles than any other Gospel. The authors of the other three Gospel often quoted Mark and Jesus’ activities. This new study is open to all women of the church, friends and neighbors. All are welcome. There are two opportunities to be part of this study. One will be held on Monday mornings starting on March 3 at 10:00 am and the second on Tuesday evenings starting on March 4 at 6:30 pm. Both studies will be held at the UMC of Macedonia in the Holbrook Room. The study will last for 7 weeks. There is a study guide to help you with your personal study but it is not required. The study guide cost $16.00. If you have any questions or to register for the class, please call 330-467-3169 or email at Jill at [email protected]. |
