Meet Stephen Cline, Organist
Tell us about yourself and your family.
We are all musical in our own ways, and my mom was my first and only piano teacher over the years. I still reach out to her for inspiration sometimes when I’m preparing a big project or have a daunting piece of music to learn.
What do you like most about the United Methodist Church of Macedonia?
My favorite thing about UMCM is how unbelievably welcoming everyone is. I have felt at home here since before I played my first official note as organist. This congregation genuinely cares about welcoming everyone in, and it is amazing to me.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
When I’m not working, I’m probably still working…there’s always something to practice/learn and I’m often playing piano into the wee hours of the night at home. I do also enjoy golf (although I’m terrible at it), as well as checking out new restaurants with friends.
What is your favorite hymn?
My favorite hymn has always been What Wondrous Love is This and I truly love how the words and music work together.
What are two items on your bucket list?
Both would have to be travel goals: first being travel to Hungary, to visit the land of my ancestors. I also really want to visit Iceland someday.
Please feel free to contact me at: [email protected]
