Why?To Glorify God through the good works of the people and friends of the UMC of Macedonia, Ohio
We will be working with the Rockford Work Camps (RWC), a program of Rockford Urban Ministries, (RUM) in Rockford, IL. Our mission statement is: To transform lives by ministries of social justice. RWC is a faith-based, non-profit ministry providing volunteer labor to help better our city’s low-income neighborhoods, food pantries, homeless shelters, parks and environmental protection areas. • Construction Projects (Safer, Warmer, Dryer) • Service Projects (Food Pantries, Shelters, Clinics and Parks) • RWC focuses on doing ministry “with” others. Not on, to or for them. |

What does a typical work day look like?
- Before 7:00 AM: Eat breakfast, pack lunches, get water, sunscreen, do morning devotions and get first aid kits for each work site.
- 7:30 AM: On Monday, the Crew Leader will meet you at the church to communicate plans for each worksite. UMC Crew leaders must attend this brief meeting.
- 8:00 AM: Each crew leader will transport teams to the worksite and introduce the daily construction plans and discuss any safety issues.
- 12:00 PM: Break for lunch. Everyone stays onsite for lunch to eat together and share devotion
- By 5:00 PM: It’s the end of the work day! Return to church where we will be staying. After the work day we will have dinner at 6:00 PM, music by our band, devotions, recreational activities and some quiet time.
