Welcome to Macedonia UMC

We're glad you're here! We feel The United Methodist Church of Macedonia is ''The Church You Will Love'', even if you haven't been to church in awhile! We want your worship experience with us to be relaxed and enjoyable. We believe you will hear a message that is relevant to your everyday life and you will experience the warmth and friendliness of the congregation.

We strive to be a church that cares. We hope this will be a place where you can make new friends and find encouragement to grow in your Christian faith.

Join us this Sunday

When you enter the church at the east or west entrances, you will be welcomed by one of our greeters in our large open Narthex. They can help you with any questions you might have or direct you to the Welcome Center where someone will be happy to help you find your way around or escort you to the classroom for your child.

We look forward to having you worship with us and hope to see you soon!

SEPTEMBER WILL SOON ARRIVE

Even though it is only August First, it is time to think about September, a time of beginnings, when our new Church Year will start.. Labor Day is on the 6th, a Monday, when our church will be closed, as we all gear up for the New Church Year.

Choirs begin on Thursday, September 9 at the regular times.

Rally Day, when church time changes (9:00 AM and 10:40 AM) and Sunday School classes begin (10:40), will be held on Sunday, September 12. So, September is a busy month, a time for new beginnings in our religious faith.BE THERE!

A Short Term Disciple Bible Study
A Survey of the All the Books of the New Testament
Two Opportunities to Attend
Only Eight Short Weeks - Done Before Thanksgiving

Four reasons to sign up

1. Disciple has proved to be the best United Methodist resource for transforming lives and forming disciples of Jesus Christ in our generation.
2. We will be studying the books of the new testament
     a. Gospels-The life, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus
     b. History- The founding of the church and its early triumphs and trial
     c. Correspondence and essays -- The letters and writings of Paul, John , Peter and others as the church grows
     d. Prophecy- It may not be as scary as you think!!
3. I will be offering the same class on two different days, Sunday and Tuesday night starting on September 19 and 21. Sunday has          been the usual night for Disciple and Tuesday has been the day for the Beth Moore Study. If you have come in the past, come again but this time invite someone else to come with you and get the blessing you got from being in small group bible study!!
4. Usually Disciple asks for the commitment of a whole year, but this survey course is less intensive and will be completed in eight weeks. We should be done before Thanksgiving and the holiday rush.

Sign up and receive a book on Rally Day Sunday, September 12 so that you can be prepared for class the next week.
You really oughta come!!!

-Rev. Larry Hukill

Rally Day 2010

Santuary Festival Series

The Sanctuary Festival Series will officially end its summer programming with a special family treat for your enjoyment. Our own Dan Walker will appear as his alter-ego, Magic Man Dan, purveyor of amazing illusions and fun.
Usually we see Dan as the Director of Education at Macedonia United Methodist Church. Occasionally he fills the pulpit with a fine sermon, every Sunday he leads the Sunday School and during the week he works with youth and others who need his help, and makes plans, and makes more plans and organizes all sorts of activities for children and youth, and operates our Website. But he is also a master of illusion and is a semi-professional magician; a Parlor Magician, a Gospel Magician and an Illusionist.
So come to the Holbrook Room at 7:30 pm on August 6, Friday, and see this remarkable man in action. Magic Man Dan, in an evening of Parlor Magic, which is magic up close and personal.

Beard Scholarships

As in the past few years, the trustees will be awarding scholarships to individuals who are attending school for an advanced degree (above high school). These scholarships are awarded through a random number drawing and are not based on academic standards. Applications can be obtained from Sandy in the office after Labor Day and will be due by September 30th. Instructions for filling out and submitting the application will be included with the form. For more information, please contact Karen Komer at (330) 468-5843.
